He broke my heart.

And left town.
Two years later he’s back.

At the bingo a blonde in a pink halter top wraps herself around him for a selfie
I can’t handle it.
As I hurry out of the bingo hall he shouts my name.
I turn. He’s running. He slows to a stop

He asks if I’m free later

He’s perfect. Tall, chiseled body, thick dark hair and he's attentive
but I don’t believe he’s changed.

I shake my head and turn away.
I have to get back to a life and a responsibility he doesn’t know about
Two more days of this and then he’ll return to Los Angeles.
And I’ll go back to my life and work at the bar.

But he chases me and I don’t know how I’ll resist even when I know he’s a breakaway player
